About Swasthya Sathi
The Swasthya Sathi Scheme is a group health protection scheme introduced by the Government of West Bengal. It aims to provide cashless medical treatment to all residents of the state. The scheme offers a basic health cover of up to âš5 lakh per annum per family for secondary and tertiary care.
Key Features and Benefits
- Cashless Treatment: The scheme is entirely cashless, paperless, and smart card-based. Beneficiaries do not need to pay anything at empanelled hospitals for treatment up to the coverage limit.
- Family Coverage: There is no cap on the family size. Parents of both the beneficiary and their spouse, as well as all dependent physically challenged persons in the family, are also covered.
- All Diseases Covered: All pre-existing diseases are covered from day one of the enrollment.
- No Contribution: The entire premium for the health cover is borne by the State Government. Beneficiaries are not required to pay any premium.
- Transport Allowance: The scheme also includes a transport allowance of âš200 payable to the patient at the time of discharge.
How to Check Your Name and Card Status
The Swasthya Sathi portal provides several online services for citizens:
- Find Your Name: You can check if your name is on the beneficiary list by using your mobile number, Aadhaar number, or Khadyasathi (ration card) number on the official portal.
- Card Verification: The smart card can be verified online using the Unique Registration Number (URN) and district details.
- Check Hospital List: The portal lists all empanelled hospitals, both public and private, where beneficiaries can avail of the cashless treatment.
